I made little tags out of bark

The bark I used was from the beech tree

A bark tag in form of a leaf or tree

A robin came to tell me how much he loves the fallen branches too

A curious Robin!

Heute bin ich an den Ort zurückgekehrt, an dem ich vor einigen Wochen Rindenstückchen gesammelt habe, um Fotos zu machen. Die Rinde hatte ich jedoch nicht vom Buchenbaum abgepult, sondern von herumliegenden Ästen.

Diese Stückchen wurden dann getrocknet und mit einer Schere in Form gebracht. Ich habe einfach wild drauf los geschnitten und gelocht (mit Schere und Locher). Am liebsten habe ich das Fischlein. Ich denke, Herzform würde auch schön aussehen.

Damit lässt sich das eine oder andere (Weihnachts-) Geschenk dekorieren oder der Weihnachtsbaum. Ich hatte auch überlegt, ein Mobilé zu basteln. Na mal sehen.

Beim Fotografieren der Rinde im Wald kam uns noch ein Rotkehlchen besuchen. Sehr hübscher Kerl! Vielleicht wollte er vorschlagen, dass sich Rindenanhänger auch in Vogelform gestalten lassen...

Today I went back to the spot where I collected pieces of bark a couple of weeks ago since I didn't take pictures the first time. And guess who was joining me (apart from my youngest)? A Robin! I think he likes the piles of wood as well (though for different reasons...)

The bark I used for my tags is from a (fallen) beech branch. If there is forest in Connemara you can be sure it is is not cared for by forestry. So it is quite easy to find fallen branches and even trees where you can help yourself...

Anyway, I let the bark dry at home. With scissors I cut the bark into simple shapes like a leaf, a mushroom and well, a little fishy that is actually my favorite one. I guess a heart shape would look nice too! 

The holes were simply punched with a perforator.  

I might use these bark tages for decorating presents or the Christmas Tree.
