Welcome, Peter Rabbit!

Kohl geerntet. Allerdings nicht zum Essen, denn dieser Kohl aus meinem Garten ist zäh, nicht mal die Schnecken haben ihn angefressen. Den kann man höchstens in die Blumenkanne stecken für's Sommersträuschen. Und da macht er sich ganz gut finde ich, zusammen mit Petersilie und Minze. 

Oder ich lade Peter Rabbit mal ein. Vielleicht hätte er ja noch seine Freude daran. Ich weiß, nur geringe Mengen für Kaninchen!  

Jedenfalls habe ich noch mehr Kohl auf meinem kleinen Beet stehen falls du, Peter, mal vorbeispringst. Ich würde dich auch nicht mit der Mistgabel fortjagen wie der fiese Mister McGregor. Nö, ich würde dir höchstens beim Fressen zuschauen wollen... 

Die liebevoll illustrierten Bücher der englischen Autorin Beatrix Potter sind weltbekannt. Auch wir mögen sie sehr. Kennt ihr aber den Ballettfilm "The Tales of Beatrix Potter"? 

Es tanzen Mitglieder des Royal Balletts unter der Leitung des Choreographen Sir Frederick Ashton. Man kann den 1971 veröffentlichen Film komplett auf YouTube ansehen und sich nicht nur an den sehr aufwendigen Kostümen der Tänzer erfreuen, sondern vor allem an der Langsamkeit, die diesen Film begleitet. 

Und wer von Peter dann immer noch nicht genug hat, kann mal auf der Website Peter Rabbits klicken. Hier gibt es nicht nur Lesenswertes über Frau Potter und ihre Tiere, sondern auch allerlei zum Ausdrucken für Kinder und Erwachsene. Und für Grundschul- Lehrer gibt es sogar Unterrichtsmaterial, das sich aber ebenso für Erzieher und Eltern anbietet. 

Mein Favorit soweit ist Cooking Up Mischief with Peter Rabbit Module Three– Looking After yourself. Es geht um Ordnung und Sauberkeit. Das müssten wir zu Hause alle mal genauer studieren :-).

Soviel Grünes auf unserem Tisch! Das muss verlinkt werden mit den Naturkindern von Caro und Holunderblütchen. 

This week I harvested some of my cabbage. Turns out it is quite chewy. Too chewy actually, therefore I put it into my watering can aka flower vase. I arranged it with mint and lots of parsley...

I think I should invite Peter Rabbit. He might like to have some of my dodgy cabbage though not even the slugs in my garden gave it try (but they enjoyed my broccoli!). Anyway, I would allow him to linger as long as he wants in my garden bed. No need to go again into meany Mr McGregor's Garden. 

The stories by Beatrix Potter are very much enjoyed in our house. Who can resist such a handsome little rabbit with a blue coat and brown shoes anyway. And so much mischief in his brown eyes.

The Beatrix Potter Series is surely a classic and very popular. However, have you ever seen the beautiful ballet adaptation called "The Tales of Beatrix Potter"? It was choreographed by Sir Frederick Ashton and danced by members of the Royal Ballet Company. The film was published in 1971 and you can watch the whole movie online on youtube! It is such a pleasure. The costumes are amazing, the dancers of course too, and the whole movie is so slow paced. It feels really relaxing to watch it.

My favorite so far is Cooking Up Mischief with Peter Rabbit Module Three– Looking After yourself. In this section children will learn about looking after themselves and why keeping clean and tidy is important :-). I suppose this is a module my kids need to do, and I too. It also contains a little activity song - surely fun!
